In awe of the Law

We try to separate so many things in real life, give words to them, categorise them, demarcate them, bind them but they bleed into each other as a whole. Any idea that we have is not isolated from the ideas we already had; it derives its tenets and tendencies from previous ideas themselves.

Let us say law. Anything that governs human action is law, yet it has no single formal definition. A custom can be law. Anything that a family prescribes can be law. Anything that a large group of humans agrees to follow is law. What is it, then? Are we bound by law?

Is there a natural law that limits human expansion? Was law always there? Was law the origin—a definitive rule?
